Penny Swing
Project type
Installation
Date
1988
Location
Columbia College
Month-long installation by a storefront large window at Columbia College where an outside audience can view a person swinging over a box containing $300 worth of pennies. The background is painted with a large bar code. The visual image of the person swinging becomes merged with the bar code. One day I discovered a student scooping up the coins into his back pack.
